Gel window clings are heat sensitive and will get soft when they get warm. If they get too hot, like in the interior of a car in the summer time, they will just plain melt and make a big mess.
Now, this just applies to extreme temperatures of a car – not for a sun exposed window.
I have mine on full sun exposure in Florida, and they’re just fine.
I don’t try remove them while they’re warm,
So, I would say in the spring time when the temperatures are not extreme, using them in the car would be fine.
