Why Would Someone Decorate Their House And Yard In Halloween Lights At The Beginning Of October?

There’s a guy on my street who doesn’t work. He just stays home all day watching people. Well, yesterday he spent the whole day decorating his house in halloween lights. It’s only October 5th. Now his whole house and yard looks like a haunted house. It seems kind of insane to me to do this already at the beginning of the month. Is it just me? Do you think this is weird?
I think it would take away from the excitement of Halloween if it had already been going on for a month beforehand. I try to keep my kids away from all the Halloween stuff until about a week before. That way it seems more special when the actual night arrives. Not to mention, who needs Halloween lights? No one on my street does that, luckily. It sounds kind of tacky, like trying to have Christmas but with orange lights?
No this is not weird. There are many decorated homes in my hometown here. They look real nice. It’s time to get those lights up if you plan to decorate.
